Regular cleaning of vertical shell and tube exchangers maintains stable heat transfer efficiency and extends equipment service life. The cleaning cycle is not fixed, which depends on the working medium, operating temperature and fouling characteristics of the production system.
For clean medium such as hot water or clean steam, the equipment can run for 12 to 24 months before cleaning. When the medium contains suspended solids, oil or mineral salts, the fouling speed increases. The cleaning cycle needs to be shortened to 3 to 12 months. Users can judge the cleaning time through real-time monitoring of heat transfer efficiency and pressure difference. A obvious rise in pressure drop or drop in heat output means fouling has accumulated inside the exchanger.
We support two common cleaning methods: chemical cleaning and high-pressure water jet cleaning. Chemical cleaning is suitable for thin and uniform scale. High-pressure water jet cleaning works well for hard scaling and solid sediment. Operators must isolate the equipment from the pipeline system and release internal pressure before cleaning work.
As a professional manufacturer, we provide cleaning suggestions according to customer working conditions. We also supply technical guidance for on-site maintenance. Reasonable cleaning schedule reduces unexpected shutdown risk and keeps long-term stable operation of vertical shell and tube exchangers.
